Crystal J. Lockett-Thomas is a Board-Certified Telemental Health Provider, Licensed Professional and Nationally Certified Counselor based in Texas who received her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Akron. She has extensive experience in working with at-risk youth, concentrating on assisting them in developing healthy perspectives and building high emotional intelligence. She has worked for the Texas Juvenile Justice Department aiding juvenile offenders, specifically those who committed violent crimes, fostering the process of building empathy and reducing recidivism.
Ms. Thomas has training and certification in Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused therapies and Moral Reconation Therapy and currently assists adolescents and adults address a variety of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, suicidal ideation and non-suicidal self-injury. She has found success in treating ADHD, PTSD, Conduct Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, as well as numerous Affective Disorders.
Crystal also has experience with adults dealing with co-morbid disorders and employs a collaborative approach with her clients in order to produce the most effective outcomes. Additionally, as Clinical Director, she is responsible for providing support and training for other therapeutic staff members in her private practice agency in order to enhance the overall client experience. In her spare time, she serves as an Adjunct Faculty member for the Collin College educational system.
