COURSE OVERVIEW
Telehealth has become ever-growing popular and it will likely continue to grow and increase following the recent COVID-19 pandemic. While telehealth is a great option to get services when not otherwise possible it does also generate a need for mental health providers to be informed about ethical dilemmas that we are likely not familiar with in typical face-to-face sessions. This course will provide useful information about the ethical situations that can arise in telehealth and discuss real-life examples of how to navigate through those situations and remain ethical while providing service from a distance.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
- Explain the benefits and history of telehealth.
- Identify ethical issues that present in the telehealth setting.
- Identify specific situations that are of ethical concern.
- Discuss which patients can or cannot be good candidates for telehealth services.
