Michele Hewitt, MA, LCMHC, NCC

Michele is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She is currently in practice as an outpatient therapist in Hickory, NC. Michele completed her BA in Sociology at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received her MA in Clinical Mental Health at Lenoir – Rhyne University. Michele has completed extensive training through the North Carolina School Health Training Center, and the North Carolina Family Life Institute both on the campus of Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Michele’s experience includes facilitating parenting and family skills education, including one-on-one parent coaching and providing sexuality education and life skills training. She has presented research findings at the Southeastern
Psychological Association conference and has developed and conducted trainings on the topics of HIV/AIDS, STDs, Bloodborne Pathogens, Geriatric Substance Abuse, Cultural Competency, The Role of Language in the Therapeutic Relationship, Spirituality in Treatment, and Care of Caregivers for several years. Michele is a featured trainer for the North Carolina Association of Addiction Recovery Facilitators.
