Michele Hewitt, MA, LCMHC, NCC
Dr. Michele Hewitt holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University. As an adjunct professor of Psychology at Lenoir-Rhyne University and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor at Crossroads Counseling Center, she brings over 15 years of experience working with adolescents and adults in diverse settings, including local school systems and non-profit agencies. Dr. Hewitt views her work as a means of serving others and is dedicated to helping students cultivate a passion for continuous learning and personal growth. Her expertise extends to facilitating emotional support groups, conducting trainings on topics such as HIV/AIDS and substance use, and promoting cultural competence.
Driven by a commitment to empower individuals, Dr. Hewitt strives to guide people on a transformative journey, transcending their past and present experiences to lead authentic, fulfilling, and healed lives on their own terms. Her compassionate approach fosters a supportive therapeutic environment where healing and growth can thrive. Alongside her teaching responsibilities and therapy services, Dr. Hewitt actively contributes to the community as a board member of a local organization and as the facilitator of an emotional support group.
