      Mary Bennett, LCSW

Mary Bennett earned her Masters in Social Work at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2016. After graduate school, she began working in a community mental health setting, and while there, obtained her License in Clinical Social Work. During this time, she gained extensive knowledge in treating individuals diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder as she provided full fidelity Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) treatment. Working under a DBT therapist in her first year in the field, she started and directed a DBT program within her second year. Currently, she works at a private practice alongside a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and a Practitioner’s Assistant to provide integrated care for patients seeking counseling and medication management. She specializes in treating adults and adolescents experiencing a variety of concerns including self-esteem, mood dysregulation, relationship problems, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, substance abuse, and other life stressors. Mary spends much of her time volunteering for a high school ministry called Younglife, which gives her a unique perspective in understanding the current issues that adolescents face today. She uses this knowledge in her role as a therapist when working with adolescents and their caretakers. Her favorite activities include anything outdoors, Crossfit, interior design, and gardening. But most of all she loves spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog.
