Overview:
Hypnosis is a state of focused attention, inner absorption, and concentration. It’s like using a magnifying glass to focus the rays of the sun, making them much more powerful. The use of hypnosis in professional therapy is termed hypnotherapy.
The most effective way to make a change is to make it at its source. Hypnotherapy directly accesses the source of behavior – the brain. Changes in the mind result in physiological and neurological changes in the brain, which lead to changed behaviors.
In this presentation, Dr. Randi Konikoff educates participants on the benefits of adding hypnotherapy to your practice through the use of lecture, demonstration, and interactive learning. Defines hypnosis and explains how it uniquely impacts the brain for positive outcomes. Presents evidence-based research and examples to support the application of hypnosis in a clinical setting. Discusses training, certification, and standards for its use.
Objectives:
- Define the principles of hypnosis and explain how hypnotherapy influences brain functioning to support behavioral change.
- Identify at least three evidence-based benefits of integrating hypnotherapy into clinical practice, supported by current research and real-world examples.
- Demonstrate an introductory understanding of how to apply hypnotherapy techniques through observation and interactive participation during the training.
