Overview:
The diagnosis and treatment of eating and feeding disorders have evolved dramatically — and most clinicians are working with outdated frameworks. Clients presenting with disordered eating patterns extend far beyond anorexia and bulimia, yet many mental health professionals lack the training to accurately assess, diagnose, and treat the full spectrum of feeding and eating disorders with confidence.
This 6-hour training equips mental health professionals with the latest evidence-based approaches to assessing, diagnosing, and treating these complex conditions. Explore contemporary developments across the full range of feeding and eating disorders, including Other-Specified Disorders such as compulsive overeating and night eating syndrome. Special attention is given to the evolving diagnostic frameworks of the DSM-5-TR and ICD-11, including emerging dimensional approaches that are shaping the future of diagnosis, case formulation, and treatment.
Through clinical interviews, case illustrations, and interactive learning activities, you’ll gain practical strategies to integrate into everyday clinical practice — enhancing both diagnostic confidence and treatment effectiveness. Evidence-based assessment tools, Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-E), and MANTRA for anorexia nervosa are presented alongside emerging dimensional models of psychopathology for personalized treatment planning.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
- Describe the major diagnostic criteria associated with at least five different feeding and eating disorders.
- Discuss the nature of the evolving relationship between the DSM-5-TR and ICD-11.
- Apply evidence-based assessments to determine the severity of at least three different kinds of disordered eating.
- Describe current empirical findings regarding the etiology, maintenance, and treatment of eating and feeding disorders, including Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-E).
- Define MANTRA and its application in the treatment of Anorexia Nervosa.
- Integrate emerging dimensional models of psychopathology into the assessment and conceptualization of eating and feeding disorders, recognizing their potential role in future diagnostic systems and personalized treatment approaches.
- Identify at least five contemporary trends in the conceptualization and treatment of eating disorders that are likely to be integrated into future editions of the DSM and ICD.
Scope and Limitations Disclosure
This 6-hour webinar provides licensed mental health professionals with evidence-based knowledge for assessing, diagnosing, and treating the full spectrum of feeding and eating disorders, including contemporary DSM-5-TR and ICD-11 diagnostic frameworks, evidence-based assessment tools, Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-E), and MANTRA for anorexia nervosa. Content is intended to build diagnostic and clinical knowledge and does not substitute for clinical supervision, specialty training, or consultation when working with complex, high-risk, or medically unstable eating disorder presentations, including cases requiring medical monitoring or higher levels of care. Participants are responsible for applying course content within the boundaries of their professional scope of practice, licensure requirements, and applicable ethical standards. Completion of this course does not confer certification or any independent credential; participants will receive only the provider’s certificate of completion documenting attendance and continuing education hours.

Dr. Greg Neimeyer
Dr. Neimeyer is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Psychology at the University of Florida where he served both as Graduate Coordinator and Director of Training in the APA-approved doctoral training program. A Fellow of the American Psychological Association, he is also a recipient of its Award for Outstanding Research in Personality and Career Psychology. Dr. Neimeyer has received numerous awards for his teaching of psychopathology and psychodiagnosis and has been inducted as a lifetime member into the Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars. He currently serves as the Director of the Office of Continuing Education in Psychology and the Center for Interprofessional Training and Education at the American Psychological Association in Washington, D.C.
