Overview:
This webinar explores the nuanced relationship between ADHD and autism, focusing on the less obvious presentations and how they manifest in various realms of life.
Participants will gain an understanding of the overlapping and distinguishing features of ADHD and autism, examine their impacts on individuals and quality of life, and learn strategies for accurate assessment and effective intervention.
By addressing diagnostic criteria and neuro-affirming approaches, this course aims to equip professionals with practical tools to better support neurodivergent individuals.

Scope and Limitations Disclosure
This course offers mental health and healthcare professionals an overview of the overlapping and distinct characteristics of ADHD and autism, with a focus on neuro-affirming strategies for assessment and intervention. The content emphasizes practical, inclusive approaches that support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning. While evidence-informed interventions are discussed, this course does not provide certification in neurodevelopmental assessment or replace specialized training in autism spectrum or ADHD-specific therapies. Participants should apply material within their professional scope and in accordance with applicable licensure and ethical standards.

Kelly Pickens, APNP, FNP-BC, ADC-C, ADHD-CCSP has over 20 years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner and two certifications in ADHD. She has an unmatched understanding of the impacts of ADHD, its different presentations, potential physiologic factors — as well as traditional behavioral, pharmaceutical, and natural treatments. Kelly is an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider and a Certified Attention Deficit Consultant. She has also been a Family Nurse Practitioner for 20+ years.
