For some clients, healing emotional wounds like rejection can be a long journey of self-discovery. Trusting others becomes difficult, leading to emotional dysregulation, feelings of abandonment, and difficulty in relationships. Further, examining the role of family members and caregivers in treatment of trauma can be beneficial for adults or adolescents facing anxiety disorders, substance use, and issues in self-regulation.
