Overview:
“DBT 101: A Comprehensive Introduction to Dialectical Behavior Therapy” is designed to provide mental health professionals with a thorough understanding of Dialectical Behavior Therapy. This training will explore the development of DBT, its key principles, and core concepts.
The course will delve into the foundational elements of DBT, including dialectics, validation, and the biosocial theory of emotion dysregulation. A key component of the training will be to explore the four skill modules of DBT—Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness—providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of how these skills contribute to emotional resilience and behavioral change.
Participants will gain insights into the practical applications of DBT in various settings, such as individual therapy, group therapy, and skills training. This course addresses the integration of DBT principles and skills into clinical practice, offering strategies for overcoming challenges and maximizing the therapeutic benefits. Objectives:
