Corey Pitts, LCMHC, LCAS

Corey Pitts is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), as well as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) who currently works for UNC Health Care’s Alcohol and Substance Abuse Program in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Corey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, as well as a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir Rhyne University. Corey’s areas of interest stem from not only co-occurring disorders but also from complexities of substance abuse difficulties, as well as how these impact communities. His expertise stems particularly from Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), where he provided individual & group counseling for a caseload of 50+ clients, as well as psych assessment, case management, and relapse prevention strategies. Corey’s treatment modalities stem from assortments of counseling theory. Although Corey considers himself to be an eclectic counselor, he tends to have strength in the utilization of Jungian Psychoanalysis, Glasser’s Reality Therapy/Choice Theory, and Motivational Interviewing.
