Dr. Tony Sheppard
Dr. Tony Sheppard is a psychologist and the founder and director of Groupworks, a private practice in Louisville, KY. The Second Edition of his book, Group Psychotherapy with Children, co-authored with Dr. Zachary Thieneman was published in August of 2023. He is a Fellow of the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA) and received the Spalding University School of Professional Psychology Alumni of the Year Award in 2018.
Dr. Tony specializes in treating young people suffering from psychiatric issues including self-harm and suicide, with over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults.
He teaches at the local, state and national levels on group therapy and suicide and
self-harm. He has taught Group Psychotherapy at Spalding University for over 15 years and
trains and supervises doctoral students in group psychotherapy at Groupworks.
