Mary K. Alvord, Ph. D

Mary K. Alvord, PhD, is a psychologist with more than 40 years of clinical experience and is the founder of Alvord, Baker & Associates. She specializes in treating children, adolescents, and adults using evidence-based therapies, primarily Cognitive Behavior Therapies (CBT). Dr. Alvord holds the position of Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavior Sciences at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), and Clinical Fellow of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA). In 2019, Dr. Alvord was presented with the Promoting Evidence-Based Mental Health Services for Children and Adolescents Award by the APA Society for Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. She is the founder of a charitable non-profit, Resilience Across Borders.
