Overview:

Working with clients who have Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) can be a challenging experience for therapists. Not only are these clients often reluctant to seek therapy, but they can also be resistant to change and difficult to treat. However, it’s important to remember that the partners and children of those with NPD can also suffer greatly and seek treatment to heal from their experiences.

This webinar will help you effectively work with clients who have NPD, and to develop an understanding of the disorder and its impact on clients and their loved ones. Dr. Fox will help you broaden your understanding of individuals with NPD and how those in their life need to have strong communication and boundary-setting skills, as well as the ability to be empathetic with themselves and those in their life.

Dr. Fox is going to help you build the skills to make therapeutic changes with your clients with NPD that can turn maladaptive strategies that perpetuate narcissism into adaptive strategies to reach their goals and be less destructive and derail therapeutic success.

Objectives:

Discuss the techniques to master working with clients along the narcissistic spectrum so you’re not tired, frustrated, and discouraged.
Explain the effective treatment approaches to make clinical gains working with your clients along the narcissistic spectrum.
Build insight into self-care and maintain boundaries to be most effective with clients with NPD.
Learn about what’s at the core of NPD that drives maladaptive patterns that impair relationships, including therapeutic ones.
