Overview:
For some clients, trusting can be difficult and can lead to problems with emotional dysregulation, feelings of abandonment, rejection and difficulty in relationships. As therapists, our role is to help clients dive into the heart of these fears, untangle old wounds, and help them heal the traumatic childhood wounds impacting their adult lives and relationships.
Join Ellen Biros as she leads you through practical and impactful strategies essential for cultivating trust with clients. Discover effective methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support individuals in overcoming their fears of rejection, paving the way for enduring healing and improved interpersonal connections.
Objectives:
- Discuss the concept of the inner child and its relation to trauma and rejection.
- Identify cognitive strategies to reframe negative thought patterns, beliefs and behaviors related to the fear of rejection and self-worth.
- Apply DBT strategies to help clients address difficulties in handling interpersonal relationships.
