Overview:
In recent years, telebehavioral health has become a popular mode of treatment for clients who cannot or do not want to attend in-person sessions. However, with this shift in treatment modality come unique legal, ethical, and HIPAA compliance challenges. This course aims to equip mental health professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide telebehavioral health services while adhering to legal, ethical, and HIPAA-compliant practices.
This fast-paced, deep-dive into HIPAA compliance will provide you with an overview and update you on the latest developments in HIPAA regulations for both in-person and online practice, focusing on the provider’s personal role, liability, and steps to become HIPAA compliant. Â
In this presentation, you’ll learn where the regulations are flexible and be given practical steps to implement the regulations to keep you and your clients safe from a security breach, public embarrassment, loss of business, and/or fines. Created by a national expert in HIPAA-compliance, telebehavioral health, and software development, this course is intended for mental health providers, supervisors, administrative, and IT staff.
